  • Scotland's preferred single malt scotch whisky is Glenmorangie, which was established in 1843 in Scotland's remote Royal Burgh of Tain.
    The 12-year-old single-malt Nectar d'Or whisky gets its name from the Gaelic word for gold and has been extra-matured in Sauternes-style French barrels.
    Nectar d'Or is made after a 10-year maturing period in American white-oak casks, after which the blend is transferred to hand-selected Sauternes wine barriques for an extra two years of maturity. During this extended maturation, the wine is given rich, spicy, and pastry-like flavours.
    This whisky develops flavour as it sits in the glass, drawing inspiration from the appeal and romance of French pastries. Aromas of brioche and croissants emerge when a tiny bit of water is added.
